A useful aide memoire for anyone heading to the alps or other mountainous region for flying. The charateristics of valley breezes remain constant whether in the alps, the pyrenees, himalayas, rockies or anywhere else you are interested in flying.
The only extra thing to add that isn't in the presentation is that whenever doing a valley crossing, it always pays to aim off a bit early on when you are still high as if you aim for the point you want to go to as you get lower, the wind will be stronger and you'll probably fight a losing battle against the valley breeze which would otherwise speed up the latter part of your transition.
