TVHGC First Aid Course

The club regularly hosts an incident / first aid course. Our courses have all been delivered by Yomp, who have been fantastic! These have been adventure sports focussed incident / first aid courses with particular emphasis on paragliding related accidents.

The last course took place on a weekend in early October 2023, at Hamstead Marshall Village Hall. The course was open to all pilots! The course cost was around £300. Those members who joined TVHGC before 21st Sept the previous year were eligible to receive a 50% subsidy.

Feedback from attendees:

  • Clearly outshines any of the previous First Aid Courses

  • everything necessary for an allround First Aider

  • excellent series of scenario role plays brought the course material to life and opportunity to practice the skills

  • was very impressed with the whole weekend … content, delivery and scenarios

Keep your eyes open for notification of the next TVHGC Incident / First Aid Course and book early to claim your slot.

Big Fat Repack

The TVHGC Big Fat Repack is on once again for 2024.  This incredibly valuable event will be held on Sunday, March 25th 2024 at Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre, Rawlinson Road, Aldershot

These events are a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Practice deploying your reserve, whilst sliding down a zip wire in your own harness

  • Learn about repacking your reserve during talks & demonstrations by BHPA-licensed packers

  • Repack your own reserve, paired up with other pilots, under the supervision of experienced packers

  • The BFR is the TVHGC's main safety event - a chance to discuss any flying safety concerns with other experienced pilots, coaches or committee members

Book you place

The TVHGC BFR event gets booked up very quickly. Grab your place on the next event when you see the email.

Coaching Course

The TVHGC offers support to pilots in the form of coaching courses that will provide them with tools to help support and develop fellow pilots. Coaches develop a wide range of knowledge within their discipline, allowing them to safely assist others, but it is important to remember that the role does not mean sacrificing your own flying needs.

Courses are open to all HG and PG pilots who hold a CP rating and a minimum of 10 hrs. They are 2 day weekend courses packed with activities, interactive discussions and talks. The BHPA course leaders will provide ongoing assessment throughout the course.

The event dates & details are:
Jan 13 - 14th. SW Wales.

Feb 10 -11th. Jersey.
