TVHGC First Aid Course

The club hosted our second first aid course and the first of 2022 mid February . As with our previous offering, the course was delivered by Yomp, who were fantastic! This is an adventure sports focussed first aid course with particular emphasis on paragliding related accidents.

The course took place on the weekend of 19th February 2022, at a venue near Petersfield. Overnight accommodation, meals and travel are at your own expense. The course was open to all pilots! The course cost £290. Those members who joined TVHGC before 21st Sept 2021 received a 50% subsidy.

Feedback from attendees:

  • Clearly outshines any of the previous 1st Aid Courses

  • everything necessary for an allround 1st Aider

  • excellent series of scenario role plays brought the course material to life and opportunity to practice the skills

  • was very impressed with the whole weekend … content, delivery and scenarios

Keep your eyes open for notification of the next TVHGC First Aid Course and book early to claim your slot.

Big Fat Repack

The TVHGC Big Fat Repack returned!!! This incredibly valuable event was held on March 5th 2022 at Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre, Rawlinson Road, Aldershot

This was a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Practice deploying your reserve, whilst sliding down a zip wire in your own harness

  • Learn to repack it during a talk & demonstration by BHPA-licensed packers Gregory Emms & Mark Luscombe

  • Repack your own reserve, paired up with another pilot, under the supervision of experienced packers

  • The BFR is the TVHGC's main safety event - a chance to discuss any flying safety concerns with other experienced pilots, coaches or committee members
