Social events are generally every first Wednesday of the month at the Swan in Inkpen

Thanks to those who were able to attend the AGM and Christmas bash at the Swan on Friday. Lots of good food and wine, good company, talks, awards and AGM.
We had a fantastic talk by Nasher (Steve Nash) and Richard Bungay (Team GBR1) about their challenge in this years RedBull XAlps. The club awarded them for their efforts.

Other TVHGC awards were:

* The best newcomer of the year: - Mike Byfield
* Highest placed TVHGC member in the XC league: - Ian Hobbis
* Women’s award for achievement in 2011:- Kirsty Cameron.
Awards for the XC League sponsored by Cloudbase Paragliding were:

* 1st position - Mike Cavanagh
* 2nd position - Richard Westgate (photo attached)

Well done to all the winners and to everyone who took part it was an exciting and challenging year for XC's. We look forward to more challenges in 2012. The new TVHGC committee were appointed for 2012 and we have quite a few new committee members who were voted in so well done to them. Details of the new members will be on the website in due course.

As was mentioned by Fi our social secretary normally there is no social meeting at the Swan in January however we are planning a meal out somewhere in the Reading area and details will follow shortly.

My thanks goes to our members who made it a wonderful year and have a very merry Christmas all and a happy new year (if not a flyable one).

Social Dates for 2012

The social dates/venue for 2012 will be the same as 2011 and at the Swan Inn, Inkpen on the first Wednesday of every month.

Note there won't be a social meeting on the 4th January 2012 at the Swan. Instead we are organising a meal out in Reading, further details watch this space.

We are always open to suggestions for socialising and speakers so drop me a line if you have any ideas or requests.
