The National Trust owns and regulates our use of this site. There are lots of horses in this area, often ridden by inexpert riders. Horses are easily spooked by low flying gliders. Never fly low over horses. This is a popular tourist attraction.

A Bottom landing is available – to be confirmed. The Farmer is happy for us to fly but please be careful around livestock – especially at lambing time.

Hazards

This is a new and untried site. When the wind is off to the North West - there may be rotor behind the “Dragon hill” This is a popular site for flying model gliders – please liaise with the model flyers over where to fly.

XC

This is a new and untried site. It is rumored that in the past gliders have flown to the coast from this site. If you do go XC from this site – get as high as you can before leaving the hill. There are not a lot of roads in the first 10km or so to Lambourn. Lambourn also has one of the largest numbers of race horses in the UK, be very careful about landing out. Image
