Comments :: Did some chuckabout (SIV) did some flosting about the lake. Fun playing with my new(ish) GPS thingy and looking at my flights. Useful for distracting myself from a nervy, sinky, am I going to make it transition over the lake.......

Comments :: Back to Barton as a thunder storm was passing over(9.00am)walked off a full english along the coast for a couple of hours,returned to find 2 airbourne.They disapeared as a fog bank rolled in,both landed safely and we waited for conditions to improve,which they did.A good hours flying for 7 of us untill winds picked up and stayed strong and westerly for the rest of the day,No trouble with pentetration this end Rob.A great weekend.

Comments :: Condition were spot on the first half of the morning,very technical site, launching in rotar and being aware of Joe Public had 10 gliders airbourne enjoying the smooth sea air and the cliff run..Became v light and off to the east for the rest of the day, we left at sunset v sunburnt.

Comments :: The forecast rain never arrived. So I headed out to a near abandoned Milk Hill. Lots of horse riders about due to a sponsored ride, no pilots. So Andy Edwards, Jon Eades and I headed over to the White Horse. Firstly for some skimming about. The clouds cleared and conditions picked up a bit. Jonty arrived with his new Gin Rebel. Conditions then turned rather bouncy with a number of punchy thermals coming through. Which gave me more chance to get used to the Incanto in rough conditions. Far better day than forecast. BTW - I'm glad Robert is enjoying the Kantega - not sure about the penetration comment though ;-) .

Comments :: With such an overcast sky, it was more gusty and lumpy than I expected. Flew for half an hour at Sugar but the wind was going further around to the south and I lost the lift. Headed over to the White Horse and got another half hour in very gusty conditions. Stayed up until it finally blew out at about 14:30. Having bought Richard F's Kantega, I am really pleased with this wing, I haven't experienced so much penetration in a long time!

Comments :: Managed an hours flying between 10 and 11am then took a break after which the wind had swung more southerly and strengthen so I called it a day. Good to have Fi as company for the first half hour before a lot more pilots turned up.

Comments :: Yes Bob,Good to get the Motors out after work,A very warm evening with interesting Air,5 motors up and flying away those cobwebs,followed by a thirst quenching de-brief.

Comments :: Warm hazy stable day with bugger all wind by the time I could get out, so what did we do? Yep get the Paramotors out for a nice hours flight around the area, finished off with practising spirals and wing overs. Landed just after sunset and home 15 mins later, not a bad end to a working day:-)

Comments :: Got an early off work!!!! Rather a lot of wind. Bit too much which made the first launch a bit of a 30 foot leap back up the take off. Managed to get off though and had fun basically gale hanging. Got too cold and landed. Must wear more clothes.....

Comments :: A top day doing my winch launching endorsement training with the ParAvion crew. Most of the day was light winds with thermal activity at times. Sadly, the wind went south and started howling through at about 4pm and we had to call it a day. Big thanks go to Trevor, Lee and Justin for all their hard work. I had a really good day and now looking forward to some more winching soon! Nice to meet some more new faces including Tim, Eric, Chris, Richard, et al. For anybody 'thinking about' doing their winch conversion, give Trevor a ring and DO IT! It's brilliant!

Comments :: What a strange day of wind! All day the met websites said completely different things, sky looked perfect, Wendy said Combe was perfect but Chris was on site in nil wind or westerly. Eventually went to Rybury in desperation after 4pm to find it spot on for another nice evening's couple of hours. Not very busy at all - Lee, Chris, Matt, Rich.. and no pub this time.

Comments :: Went on a mad dash to Milk from work. Got there at 18:30 to see Fi land. Thought I'd got there too late. Got the wing out just in case to be rewarded with 20 minutes worth of smooth soaring. Before the wind went right off the hill. Then down to the pub with Fi, Tim and Chris. Nice way to end the day.

Comments :: Was stuck at work till 2.30 and was debating Milk Hill or Caburn, went for the later and had a great few hours. Very unstable with strong climbs upto 1500ft ato, even a steady 4-up at 5.30pm - in early April?! summers comming...

Comments :: A lovely, lovely day, nearly 4 hours airborne, though my wing got some extra time in when Mike H purloined it for a while. It was so lifty most of the day that it was hard to get back on the ground, and still flyable at dusk. I ventured further west and further out front than ever before at Combe, helped by following red kites and some sky gods like Kirsty and John T, thanks! Good to see more ParAviators out too - Phil's first UK CP flight, Andy recovered from his drag, Mike etc.

Comments :: Shot down to Combe again for late afternoon, after a wait for a snow shower to pass the wind dropped to flyable but a bit light, joined by Richard Ford and Mike Hibbet with myself and Marta on the tandem, number of short flights then dropped to nothing, picked up again after we packed up but by then too dark.

Comments :: Left london in heavy snow "knowing" that the conditions were going to improve and that it would be post frontal by the time I arrived at combe... Oh for 5mph! Sadly i had got the timing spot on, but the forecasters had underestimated the the wind by 5mph.... Beautiful sky, so went to hungerford for a coffee, rang windy and found that it was still too windy, went and checked out liddington and although it was probably just flyable, the wind was a long way off to the north. Somewhat crestfallen returned to london looking at an ever improving sky! Richard So nearly so good

Comments :: Went to Combe hoping the wind would drop by later afternoon, it did at about 5 and had a interesting 30 odd mins flight in strong wind and great lift, spring thermals as you would expect but also much bigger ones too, could have probably gone with one if wanted too. landed in increasing wind before next rain band set in!

Comments :: What a fantastic day (not epic and no XC's l don't think) but got to site about 1330 and already a dozen in the air as l approached. Havnt checked the time exactly but reckon on at least hour and half in the air. Dynamic wind was behaving itself and by the end of the day must have been about 35 in the air including 3 hangies. Left site about 5pm and pilots were still turning up and still 5 or 6 in the air. Mike.
