Date :: 30 / 12 / 2007
Direction :: South West
Comments :: After a promising email from you know who ;-) about 15 or so at Rybury and a dozen at Milk arrived at various times for a chat as wind was practically zero. Most done one or two shallow beats across the front of the hill. Myself and Jamie done a top to bottom(side) and left. Hoping Mon or Tues is better before back to work on Wed. Did the weather improve when we left?

Comments :: Quite a gathering for boxing day, didn't get there till 12.00 by which time quite a few wings on the hill but none in the air. Wind was always slightly off to the south but later in the day, picked up enough to give those with the patience, a very satisfying hour of enjoyable soaring. Wind increased and went lumpy but by that time most needed thawing anyway. Finished off with nice cup of tea provided by Kay (many thanks) and a demonstration of the Sayers cannon! You'll just have to ask Paul!!

Name :: james learmont
Email :: james _at_ my surname dot com
Date :: 16 / 12 / 2007
Direction :: East
Comments :: It's rare that you can get two days of good flying in over a weekend in England, but so it was at the Malverns this weekend. Airtime in hours rather than minutes. Bit strong for my skill level on Saturday, but better pilots managed an hour before they got frostbite. Massive dynamic lift everywhere. On Sunday we flew in the morning, went down the pub to warm up, and then flew in the afternoon in the setting sun. Hands off smooth and just beautiful although direction was a bit off to south at times. Great to get air under the boots again. The locals were very friendly and chilled in all senses of the word. Big thanks to Gav for the generous hospitality & local knowledge!

Comments :: Who cares about wind direction or speed? This is ParAvion's brand new high tow site on the edge of Salisbury Plain. 51°17'25.61"N, 1°51'20.13"W, also a part time Tiger Moth field. A beautiful day and several of us were signed off CP Tow. That's more members for the club too. Thanks Trev, Coxy and Lee!
