All at the Swan Inn in Inkpen, gathering from 7.30pm with talks at 8pm. The Swan has a very nice, low-price, menu and kindly gives us the venue free of charge, so we encourage you to have a bite to eat with your drink.

Social Dates for 2010

3rd February features Will the Weatherman (who worked for the UK Met Office and now the New Zealand Met Office) talking to us about "Why the Wind is always Wrong", so absolutely relevant to all levels of paraglider and hang glider pilot.

3rd March is about Air Law, Navigation and instruments. It is part of Richard Bungay's Pilot lecture series and again relevant to all levels, particularly those aspiring to XC this season.

7th April and 5th May will be focused on the new season of XC and club flying.

After that the dates are: 2nd June; 7th July; 4th August; 1st September; 6th October; 3rd November; and 1st December.

Following last year's successful summer party we hope to repeat that this year. We are always open to suggestions for socialising and speakers so drop me a line if you have any ideas or requests.

31st July: The TVHGC summer party is on Saturday 31st July at Rudlers West, which is a private site just west of Rybury in the beautiful Pewsey Downs - the same venue as last year. It's camping, barbeques and very bad dancing under the stars so get the tent out and brush the moths off. Tickets are £7 in advance and £10 on the night. More details nearer the time and we'll put up a buy-on-line website shortly.

Summer party!

Image This is Simon Twiss flying over the "mini-Glastonbury" that became the TVHGC summer party on the 8th of August. It was deliberately low key and simple as there was already a wealth of bashes and overseas events (Mere, Blorenge, St Hilaire etc) on the calendar so we just had a disco tent with an ipod and South African style "braii" (no girls allowed!) to cook the sausages. The weather gods were unbelievably generous and allowed flying both days as well as a lovely warm evening for the party. About 60 folk came along and partied til dawn.
